Having trained and qualified with a medium-sized firm in the City in 1983, Richard moved to Coopers and Lybrand, where he gained valuable experience post-qualification. He joined Trevor Jones in 1986, and specializes in advising owner-managed businesses, dealing with property companies and advising high net worth individuals. He has addressed conferences on managing the ‘credit crunch’ and also heads our very successful entertainment and media department. In his spare time Richard is a keen scuba diver.

Tim trained and qualified with Stoy Hayward, qualifying in 1988. Having developed a specialism in auditing and accounting matters, he joined Trevor Jones in 1993 to develop the department providing compliance services to our larger corporate clients. This has been very successful and covers a wide spectrum of industries, including property and construction, hotels, plant-hire, garden centres as well as service industries. Tim has completed two Ironman triathlons and has attempted the Arch to Arc Challenge which involved running from Marble Arch to Dover, swimming the channel, then cycling to the Arc de Triomphe, in a relay team of 4.

With many years' experience in the tax departments of both City and local firms of accountants, Janet joined Trevor Jones in 1997 to start up a specialist personal tax department following the introduction of self-assessment. Originally trained by the Inland Revenue, Janet attained her Chartered Tax Adviser qualification (then known as ATII) in 1990 and achieved membership of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) in 2007. She has recently been appointed as a non-legal member of the new First Tier Tax Tribunal, which replaced the former General and Special Commissioners from 1 April 2009. In her spare time Janet has been tracing her family tree, and has found ancestors and family members reaching back 280 years to 1729 thanks to the Internet.

Tim arrived at Trevor Jones in 2000 with commercial experience from the banking industry. He qualified in 2004, and became a partner in 2008. Tim has built up a portfolio of clients of owner-managed business and property management companies. With an in-depth knowledge of the legal profession, he has developed reporting under Solicitors Accounts Rules into a particular area of expertise. Tim's young family keeps him busy outside the office.

Having joined Trevor Jones straight from school in 1988, Kevin qualified in 1996. He left the firm to work in industry with one of the firm's largest clients, before returning to the practice, having gained valuable commercial experience. Kevin has long-standing business relationships with many of our largest clients, and specialises in audit and accounting matters. Kevin enjoys golf, and hopes to be as good as his son one day.

Rob has been in practice since 1992 and joined Trevor Jones in 2000 when he commenced training for a professional qualification, passing his finals in 2004. He provides many businesses with regular support and specializes in managing our most challenging audit clients. He ensures that clients have proper and timely management reporting systems, from which management and statutory accounts are prepared. He has a wide knowledge of management information systems, and deals with the full service, from installation of the systems, setting up regular controls, and reporting for VAT, accounts, tax, statistical or other purposes.

Michael started in practice in 1987 and trained at Stoy Hayward before joining Trevor Jones in 2002. He provides a full range of business services including assisting with the set up of accounting systems to provide timely and accurate reporting, assistance with preparing management reports, preparation and clearance of year end accounts and manages audit compliance assignments. He specialises in regular support for small businesses looking to outsource their entire accounting function so the directors are able to concentrate on growing their business.

Paul joined the tax department in May 2005 with no previous tax experience. He immediately began an intensive study course and achieved the Association of Tax Technicians qualification within a year. Going on to study for the Chartered Institute of Taxation examination, he passed this, also at his first attempt, in November 2007. Paul is now managing the day to day work of the tax department including VAT returns as well as personal and company tax matters and deals personally with entertainment and media clients. Fortunately Paul had completed his CTA qualification before the arrival of his twin boys, who now keep him busy once he gets home.

Debbie heads up our large payroll department, dealing with corporate and individual payrolls of up to 60 employees. As the compliance and processing requirements have become increasingly more complex, clients are realizing the benefits of outsourcing their payroll, to ensure proper compliance, confidentiality and avoiding the problems of absence should they process the salaries in-house. A recent addition to this department is the monthly processing of building contractor returns under the new Construction Industry Scheme regulations.

Pam provides full company secretarial services, by maintaining company registers, dealing with share transfers, ensuring annual returns and accounts are filed on time, attending shareholders meetings and providing all other services a Company Secretary would provide. She has particular expertise in dealing with residents' associations and the various formalities required for flat sales and purchases.
